New bedding line from Barclay Butera

Interior designer Barclay Butera has created a wide range of luxury bedding and decorative pillows for Eastern Accents. The textiles are hand-crafted in Eastern Accents’ Chicago studio. The collection was shown at the furniture market in High Point in October.

Angela Adams designs on soy candles

Artwork by the designer Angela Adams adorns soy candles by Crash. The designs are fired on the glass tumblers, becoming permanent, so that the glass can be reused after the candle has been consumed. The candles are made in the Chicago area, hand-poured using 100% natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and complex fragrances. The company calls itself the only candle company featuring artwork by prominent, contemporary designers on the candle itself. Crash natural soy candles also features art collections by Lotta Jansdotter, Zuz Design, and Binth.

New licensed textiles from Winterthur collection

Andover Fabrics has been a licensee of Winterthur since 2008. Andover Fabrics began in 1920 as a small office in downtown Manhattan that sold velvet cloth to the women’s hat trade. Today, the company is run by the grandson of the founder and continues to sell fabric but as an independent company devoted to the quilt trade.

Inspired by designs found in the vast textile collection at Winterthur, Andover’s Winterthur Collection offers quilters the opportunity to work creatively with beautiful patterns that reflect the quality and authenticity of the museum’s collection. The new collection of quilting fabrics is based on the late 18th-century John Hewson coverlet in Winterthur's textile collection. It consists of nine patterns in multiple colorways.

Suzy Toronto Collection. New serveware designs from popular licensed artist Suzy Toronto includes tabletop for home entertaining, cosmetic bags, water bottles and gifts for girls of any age. Bright colors, fun patterns and humorous text are signature Suzy, applied to formats such as glasses, snack plates, platter, place card holder set, cosmetic bags, water bottles, luggage tags, pill boxes and credit/business card holders.

Wine & Vine. Contemporary barware, accessories and hostess gifts are exclusive designs by Midwest-CBK in-studio artists. Formats include glassware, snack plates, serving dishes, wine toppers, bar towels, cheese boards and markers, cork holder, cocktail and cheese picks and wine holder, featuring tongue-in-cheek phrases such as "Aged perfectly," "Cork it," "Wineaux," "Grape therapy," "Time to wine," "Wine a little, laugh a lot" and "Wine time.

Nature's Soul. Inspirational quotes and beautiful designs lift the spirit and soothe the soul. Style is contemporarly with brushed silver finish and designs made of metal, glass and canvas. Formats include ornaments/pins/charms (all in one), angel figurines, keepsake boxes, candle holders, wish and prayer stones, photo frames, night lights and wall crosses.

Keith Haring art livens up mops and brooms

Dust pans from the Keith Haring collection

The Keith Haring Cleaning Collection from Casabella uses the late artist's imagery on mops, broom, dust pans and microfiber dusting cloths. Casabella's cleaning tools, kitchen and bath accessories and organizing products have received numerous design awards and industry recognition. It also markets the BE Gourmet line of food prep.

Colorful aprons, kitchen towels, pot holders

Peking Handicraft Inc. (PHI) introduced a new line of kitchen textiles by licensee Ellen Crimi Trent. Trent's designs for Peking Handicraft are done in five colorful designs. All the styles boast a whimsical look, using bright, bold colors and a fanciful duck adorned in a chef's hat.

The classic statements "Sugar and Spice," "Kiss the Cook," "Bon Appetit," "What's Cookin'?" and "Never Trust a Skinny Cook," enhance the look of all aprons and kitchen towels found in each style.

All of the designs are offered in four coordinating pieces: standard apron, half apron, kitchen towel, and pot holder.

5 new bedding ensembles

Outdoor apparel manufacturer Woolrich Inc. has added textile manufacturer JLA Home to its growing lineup of home furnishings licensing partners. Planned introductions will include a total of five bedding ensembles. Queen sets will include a filled duvet, adjustable bed skirt, two Euro shams, and two standard shams. Decorative throws, themed pillows, and sheets will also be available separately, and will provide a variety of custom looks.

The JLA product line is designed to complement Woolrich’s existing brand partners and their products, which include: Lynn Haney Collection (handcrafted Santas); Mohawk Home (floor coverings); Picture Source (wall art); Rowe Pottery Works (handcrafted pottery and garden décor); Shadow Mountain (home furnishings); Shady Lady (handcrafted lighting and accessories); and Whitecraft (indoor and outdoor furniture).

Better Homes & Gardens licensed furniture

Summerglen Drive is a new line of living room, bedroom and dining room furniture in the Better Homes and Gardens American Routes collection by Universal Furniture. Each piece has a dark, hand-rubbed mahogany finish that highlights the natural grain of the wood veneers.
Design details include round and square turnings, sliding doors with raised panels, oiled bronze metal accents and authentic plank details. The company says this furniture is scaled for the average-sized home. Universal Furniture introduced the collection at the High Point furniture market in October 2010.

Vintage Easter and Valentine's Day greeting cards

Caspari's new Winterthur Easter and Valentine's Day cards are inspired by designs found in the extensive John and Carolyn Grossman Collection currently housed in Winterthur's library. Caspari's charming cards feature chicks and bunnies, daisies, kissing lovers, angels, roses, and more. The designs are taken straight from the originals, which represent just a small sample of the Grossman Collection, a wonderful resource for designs. The collection consists of more than 250,000 pieces of ephemera dating mostly to the 1800s.

Pink-ribbon gifts

Midwest-CBK has a new line of Pink Ribbon Sisterhood gifts designed by artist and author Suzy Toronto. The new collection features pink ribbon graphics symbolic for the fight against breast cancer in Toronto’s signature style, with copy that reads “Supporting Each Other in the Ultimate Fight of Our Lives.”
The Pink Ribbon Sisterhood collection includes four best-selling gift designs including a mug, nightshirt packaged in a tote bag, ceramic tile wall plaque and journal/notebook.
The new Suzy Toronto Collection also features desktop mugs, necklaces, coin purses, and tiles. Each item includes an uplifting, empowering or humorous message that speaks to women. Each item is also accompanied by a story or poem.

Holiday paper goods from the Winterthur collection

Caspari has a new line of paper goods inspired by artwork in the Winterthur collection. Items include napkins, plates and greeting cards. In the Victorian era, trade cards served as advertisements that were often collected and pasted into scrapbooks. The turkey is inspired by a lithographed trade card in the Thelma Seeds Mendsen Collection housed in the Winterthur Library.

Serenading angels framed in gold are among the Christmas images on lithographed greeting cards in the John and Carolyn Grossman Collection housed in the Winterthur library. In the second half of the 1800s, the new art of chromolithography brought a vividness to paper objects enjoyed by people of all ages.

In the Victorian era, lithographed pictures of angels and Christmas trees heralded best wishes for the holiday. This angel lights the candles while decorating a tree by moonlight. The image is among the lithographed greeting cards in the John and Carolyn Grossman Collection housed in the Winterthur library.

Licensed decor from Winterthur

Among the many furnishings purchased for Winterthur are ceramics from the Staffordshire potteries in England. During the first half of the 1800s, the Adams and Sons factory produced earthenware dishes, which were hand-painted with a lively design of red roses and green leaves. Today referred to as “Adams’ Rose,” the dishes were listed as the “Pa. rose china 23” by H. F. du Pont, who used them for Christmas Eve dinners
Du Pont’s holiday tableware is the inspiration for the Adams’ Rose collection by Andrea by Sadek. The collection includes scalloped dishes, boxes, a tea-for-one set, mugs and planters.

Vintage-inspired pillows by Jennifer Paganelli

Peking Handicraft expands its textile offerings by designer Jennifer Paganelli with six new, vintage-inspired pillows. The pillows are designed in two styles: embroidered and hook. They blend Paganelli's classic use of feminine colors and unique, sophisticated patterns.
Paganelli, who first debuted as a Peking licensee earlier this year, draws design inspiration from her past experiences and charming memories.

Candice Olson for Norwalk Furniture

Designer Candice Olson introduced three contemporary upholstery silhouettes at the spring High Point market. The three groups, available from Norwalk Furniture, are:

Kiley Sofa and Conversation Ottoman. The sofa has a wide track arm and back accentuated with tall scattered back pillows. Ribbons of nailhead trim highlight the bold, geometric shape. Kiley is shown in a camel hair wool blend fabric with a suzani patterned accent pillow. The ottoman wraps around the sofa, functioning as ottoman, chaise and cocktail table.

Millie Sectional. Millie features five sharply angled surfaces that present multiple bunching configurations. Its plush loose pillows contrast with a thin padded seat cushion.

Sammy Sectional, Sofa, Condo Sofa, Chair and Ottoman. The sofa has a streamlined track arm design. Choices include tufted or untufted pillow backs, baseball stitching, and welting.
